Union Electronic Transaction Services (CUETS) has agreed
to provide credit card service to Pacific Coast Savings,
the fourth largest credit union in Canada.
Regina-based
CUETS will serve over 16,500 MasterCard cardholders
belonging to the Vancouver Island-based credit union
in November.
Financial
terms were not disclosed, but CUETS CEO Stan Kuss said
the deal represents "several millions of dollars a year"
for CUETS.
Kuss
said the contract, which CUETS won from a major bank,
doesn't have a huge local impact, perhaps four or five
new jobs. But it comes on top of a recent contract to
supply card services to a group of Ontario caisse populaires,
including a bilingual call centre.
"We've
been growing at 20 per cent a year in revenues for the
last three or four years," Kuss said.
CUETS
supports 735,000 MasterCard holders and provides automated
teller service to 2.5 million debit cardholders nationally.
