CUETS Launches Enhanced Web Sites
Regina (May 24, 2001) -- Darcy Ruse, Vice President
of Client Support, announced today the launch of enhanced
versions of two Web sites: www.cuets.ca
and www1.CUCARDSONLINE.COM.com.
Building on the success of CUCARDSONLINE.COM -a cardholder
site, launched last year - CUETS partnered with IBM
Canada's Vancouver Innovation Centre to redevelop CUCARDSONLINE.COM
and cuets.ca with new functionality for cardholders
as well as corporate clients, such as credit unions
and caisses populaires.
This launch marks the continuation of CUETS' E-business
strategy, developed in order to provide enhanced client
communications, integrated functionality and supply
chain management. CUETS also sees future opportunities
for integrating Web-based applications with current
core systems, as well as those of other service provider
partners, such as those who support card production
and loyalty management programs.
In addition to the opportunities, Ruse cites client
readiness as an important factor. "The Internet
has been widely adopted by Canadians. Our corporate
clients are currently evolving their own Internet banking
strategies and have expressed eagerness for partners
like CUETS to further develop online services.
When we launched CUCARDSONLINE.COM last year, credit
unions, caisses populaires and cardholders alike told
us how much they liked the new site and what types of
services they would like to see in the future. Now,
we're acting on those suggestions and are proud to make
several of these new functions available today."
Both CUCARDSONLINE.COM and cuets.ca have an updated
Web presence, thanks to a fresh new design. In addition,
cuets.ca provides an expanded review of products and
services offered by CUETS at both the retail and corporate
level. Enhancements to the Choice Rewards catalogue
provide easier navigation and enhanced product images.
A new secure area is also available for credit unions
and caisses populaires.
New options at CUCARDSONLINE.COM include security enhancements,
cardholder registration, change password, forgot password
and Choice Rewards points balance. In addition, cardholders
with a CU CREDIT card will be provided card product
information, online applications and online credit limit
change request functions. For cardholders who visit
CUCARDSONLINE.COM, a message will be displayed that
tells them about the new look and feel of the site and
invites them to register. This registration is part
of the enhanced security features and will enable them
to choose their own password.
Both sites are also now available in French and English.
Ruse explains: "Part of our ongoing service commitment
is to continue to enhance bilingual service options
for our clients. Over the past two years we have added
a number of bilingual staff to our Regina call centre
and have recently opened a bilingual service centre
in Winnipeg. Today, clients can now use our Web services
in French."
The sites were built using state of the art IBM technology
and meet the key elements of well-constructed Internet
applications and system architecture. They are secure,
reliable and flexible. Ruse is enthusiastic about these
enhancements and the prospect of adding even more functionality.
"With the launch of the first phase complete, work
on future enhancements is already underway. We look
forward to providing clients with even more service
options in the future."
