CUETS Announces Partnership
Agreement with Meridian Credit Union
CUETS and Meridian Credit Union announced they have renewed their partnership agreement to provide CU CREDIT® MasterCard® services to 180,000 members of Ontario’s largest credit union. The agreement took effect March 1, 2006.
"The credit union system has thrived thanks to strong partnerships forged with organizations with similar co-operative values," said Sean Jackson, President and CEO of Meridian Credit Union. "Renewing our relationship with CUETS, an organization created 25 years ago to support the credit union system, made sense for Meridian . We are very excited to continue offering our members a full suite of Meridian Credit Union MasterCard products, as well as the flexible CHOICE REWARDS® loyalty program."
Meridian Credit Union was formed with the amalgamation of two of Ontario’s most successful credit unions, HEPCOE Credit Union and NIAGARA Credit Union, in April of 2005. Meridian is the third largest credit union in Canada with a network of over 40 branches across central and southern Ontario .
Jackson added CUETS, with its comprehensive product offering, coupled with marketing programs such as the Credit Approval Program (CAP) that empowers credit union staff to approve CU MasterCard applications when meeting with members face-to-face, and the merchant program through Unified Network Payment Solutions, provided the blend of acquiring and issuing services Meridian was seeking in a payment solutions partner.
