CUETS wins big at MECCA

Not long after being named Global Call Center of the Year by the International Customer Management Institute, CUETS received more accolades at the Manitoba Customer Contact Association's 2006 MECCA Awards on November 16.

CUETS took home hardware for earning top marks in employee satisfaction, based upon an employee survey, and community support for all of the work done by the company and individual employees for various charities. Two CUETS employees were also recognized for their talents and contributions to the industry. Lucille Gregory was named Representative of the Year, while Stu Eckert was named Manager of the Year.

Gregory was nominated by her peers based on several criteria including quality, productivity/quantity, accountability, teamwork, interpersonal skills, leadership and problem solving.

Gregory was honoured to be nominated by her co-workers and peers. “I enjoy my job, and being able to help others make their job easier is very fulfilling for me. The past three and a half years at CUETS have been phenomenal and I am looking forward to many more wonderful memories with the company.”

Eckert was nominated by peers and agents based on accountability, teamwork, interpersonal skills, leadership, problem solving, decision making, initiative, supervisory, coaching/mentoring and integrity.

He said the award has special meaning because it was based upon the feedback of people who report to him. “It means I am serving their needs as we are both striving to meet corporate goals. For me, it is an acknowledgment that servant leadership works.”

Scott Bailey, CUETS Vice President of Contact Services, was on hand at the event to accept some of the awards and congratulate Eckert and Gregory.

“It was an outstanding night for CUETS. Because these awards are based on the observations and opinions of our employees, it's an excellent indication that employees from all levels of the organization are experiencing the values we have set out, and take pride in working for CUETS,” Bailey said.
